Poem: Dont look Back

she was a visage of infinite beauty,
timid and ruly,
a princess
never drifting from routine.
her neck glistened with rubies
diamonds
and different stones,
i did my duty
smiling
as the ring enclosed her finger's mould.
she gripped a rose;
white, innocent and pure
just like her demure.
i was the sickness i'd found my cure.
and we danced below the moonshine
until dawn crept awake,
and we didn't stop dancing
until our wedding day.

there she stood in her gown of white,
a crown of light
that shone so bright
we'd never found the night.
but suddenly
a lover's bite.
i crumble, cry,
my lover dies...
oh, my beautiful eurydice.
and now no matter what songs i sing
i'll never clutch my angel's wings
or feel her breathe in my ear
like a whispered wind.

but at night i dream of her,
lonely in solitude.
eurydice.
i keep on calling you.
i see you wither in that silver chair,
i see you age with your silver hair,
you keep growing without me
for eternity
in the depths of despair.
i promised i'd never look back...

but every time i do i find you're never there.
